Activate Your Wallet
You cannot transact until your wallet is activated. Activation is a one-time process covering four things:
Write down your 15-word recovery phrase — the only way to recover your wallet if you lose your device.
Set a wallet password (different from your login password).
Register at least two nominees.
Declare the personal law that governs succession of your assets.
Step 1: Your 15-word recovery phrase
IMPORTANT. These 15 words are the ONLY way to recover your wallet if you lose your phone or forget your password.
Write them on paper. Do not screenshot them.
Store the paper somewhere safe and private.
Never type them into any website or share them with anyone — not even IRG staff.
Step 2: Confirm your recovery phrase
To confirm you wrote it down, please enter words at these positions:
Step 3: Wallet type
Choose Individual for personal use (most households).
Choose Legal person only if the wallet belongs to a registered entity such as a company or trust.
You cannot change this later, so please pick carefully.
The exact name as it appears on your incorporation certificate, GST certificate or trust deed.
Choose the type that matches the entity's incorporation. If you are unsure, ask your CA or company secretary —
this affects which signatures and approvals will be needed for high-value actions.
Step 4: Wallet password 🔒 Encrypted
Either: at least 8 characters with at least one letter and one digit, OR a passphrase of 16 characters or more. Must be different from your sign-in password — this is a security feature, not an oversight.
💡 A passphrase like "morning sunlight on the river" is just as safe and easier to remember.
IRG never sees this password — only a one-way fingerprint.
Step 5: Register nominees (minimum 2, shares must total 100%)
Required for individual wallets. Your nominees can help recover access if you lose your device and forget your password. They will only be contacted by IRG if you (or they) file a recovery case — never otherwise.
Optional for legal-person wallets. If provided, they serve as the humans who can initiate recovery on behalf of the entity.
Step 6: Accept recovery terms
By activating, you confirm you understand:
IRG stores only a hash of your password and recovery phrase. We cannot reset them.
If you lose access: self-recovery via seed phrase, or nominee-assisted recovery, or trustee-assisted recovery via the IRG Ombudsman.
For legal-person wallets, ownership transfer (acquisition, partnership change, trustee succession) runs through a dedicated Ombudsman-reviewed process.
In case of your death, your nominees and legal heirs can recover your assets through the documented process.

In case of emergency, these nominees can initiate wallet recovery. Shares must total 100%.
💡 How nominee changes are protected: when you click
Save, we send a 6-digit OTP to your registered email. You will also need your wallet passphrase. Both are required
to save the changes — this protects you if someone else gets temporary
access to your phone.

Ownership Transfer
For legal-person wallets only. Use this when the ownership of the entity that holds
the wallet has changed — company acquisition, new partnership deed, trustee succession,
or the proprietorship has been sold as a going concern. The wallet address does not
change, but a new authorised operator takes over after Ombudsman review. Transactions
are paused during the process.
